"It is a kind of privilege to stand so close to such an incredible miracle" - Simone |
We are both registered with the Nursing and Midwifery Council, are members of the Royal College of Midwives and have been trained by UNICEF in Breastfeeding Management. We attend regular Mandatory Study Days to update our skills and knowledge base. As practicing Midwives, we are required to keep a Portfolio which can be requested by the National Midwifery Council at any time for inspection. We are expected and are able to demonstrate evidence-based knowledge on all aspects of Midwifery Care. This includes Antenatal, Intrapartum (Labour) and Postnatal Care. Therefore, couples attending our classes can be assured that all the guidance and information given in the Course is evidence-based, up-to-date and of the highest standard. Jacqueline Flavell SRN RM BSc (Hons) I have been a registered nurse and midwife since 1976. I currently work under the NHS in all areas of midwifery, specializing in antenatal care. I have also completed "Sexual Health in Education" Training and am a member of the Teenage Pregnancy Midwifery Network. I am passionate about midwifery and the need to develop women's confidence in the power of their own bodies. I am also a mother with two sons who are both now young men. Louise Brennan RGN RM BSc (Hons) I have worked full time as a registered nurse and midwife since 1999. I am employed under the NHS and work in all areas of midwifery. In my role as Clinical Risk Midwife I am involved with strategic risk assesment to safeguard mothers and babies. My experience also includes occasional work in the Neo-Natal Intensive Care Unit. I have a particular interest in postnatal care and a genuine desire to help women prepare for the impact the arrival of a baby has in the first weeks of life. This includes breastfeeding. |
