Anita Brennan RN (Child) DipHe with acaedmic distinction, BSC
I have been a practicing paediatric nurse since 2001. I currently work as a Sister in a children's accident and emergency department, within a National Health Service hospital.
I am specialised in caring for injured and critically unwell children, in a holistic and family-centred manner. I have completed a post graduate course to qualify as an emergency nurse practitioner. This enables me to autonomously treat children with minor injuries, including wound care, fractures and minor head injuries.
I have a particular interest in resuscitation and have completed the 'Advanced Paediatric Life Support' course to further advance my skills. I have also completed a course to enable me to teach parents basic life support of infants and children. I have been teaching these sessions for four years and I attend annual training to ensure my skills and advice are in accordance with the Resuscitation Council's guidelines.
